Here it is, the cookie that started it all.
Not very impressive looking, but TASTY!
Two days ago, I was making a cake, which used a mix. You know, the cake that made Martha green with envy? I was in a hurry, and didn't pay attention to the printed recipe. Instead of adding 2/3 cups of water, I added 2/3 cups of sugar. I had already blended that into some eggs, and a whole stick of butter (which is not cheap these days). So, instead of throwing it out, I stuck it in the fridge, and made the cake in another bowl.
This morning, I felt brave enough to throw in some extra ingredients, and hope for some cookies. Never did I expect so many little hands to snatch them up in record time! I couldn't help feeling as giddy as their giggles sounded. Tate, Yana, and Luke, could not get enough cookies! (Yana and Luke are my neighbor's children. How awesome to have home schooling neighbors!) I was hearing, "Oooohs" and "Ahhhhs!" The best part was when Yana said that I was the best cook in the world...besides her, of course.
But, of course!
Tonight, I am desperately trying to recreate these little cookies, because I would not want to let down the best cook there ever was....
...besides me, of course. ;)
Cheering you on & checking the fuel guage,
Layla
