I am about to dash out the door to meet a friend, but before I leave, I want to get as many prayer warriors on their knees as possible. Prayers for my friends' second adoption. The Horner's are an Okie family, who own a cupcake shop in Moore (The Cupcake Lounge). They are currently in Ukraine, seeking to adopt two siblings. They are praying for an absolute MIRACLE, as everything needs to happen at JUST the right time, in JUST the right way. But as we Christians know....GOD IS ALL ABOUT ADOPTION! And He is capable of opening, or closing, any doors. Our job is simple: PRAY.
To learn more about this family, please visit the Horner's blog:

Their story has had so many twists and turns, there is no possible way for me to condense it. The best I can do is offer you their latest Facebook status:
"Prayer request- Pray that this miracle will happen... we want to ask the Lord to please let UA govt / officials waive the time frame little brother has to be in the registry until we can get him and take him and Tanya home. Please pray for all of our paperwork to get processed, approved, and for this time line to be waived to re-unite our family sooner. If they do not waive it, we are looking at it taking from the end of November up to in and into January. We are praying for God to move this mountain! Please pray with us!"
I know that this is not what I normally blog about, but if you want to know a little bit about my "other side," it's a heart for adoption. (No, I have not, and cannot adopt, but that doesn't stop the tug on my heart to be involved.)
This is Adrian.
He's the Horner's son,
who traveled all the way from Ukraine,
and finally found his forever home (Oklahoma), this past year:
(Sorry the pics are blurry, it's all I have at this moment.)
Yeah, we need more of that sweetness in OK!
READY?
SET...
PRAY!!!!!
Cheering you on & checking the fuel gauge,
Layla

Praying Layla, my friend Amey turned me onto their blog! What a small world!
ReplyDeleteIt IS a small world! You need to check out their cupcake shop. They are a sweet, sweet family. Thanks for the prayers.
ReplyDeleteGod is all about adoptions AND He is all about miracles. Go God, go. Show what You can do! Where 2 or more are gathered (on the Internet?) and all that stuff. :)
