Going ALL the Way into Manic Monday

Today was...

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

A tad stressful.

Let me explain:

Our neighbors' cats have been missing for the past couple of weeks, and they still don't have any definitive answers. We have been very sad for their loss. They are still not sure where they went, or what happened to them.
Just...gone. :(

Today, Possum went missing.

Every horrific scenario went through my mind. We searched every inch of our property to no avail.

(Fast forward to when Brian got home from work.)

POSSUM WAS FOUND IN A TREE!!!

She was terrified, and panting. It was very hot, and she was too scared to climb down. Clearly, something had chased her up that tree. Brian and Skyler had to rescue her with a ladder.

There are several more things that contributed to the chaos today, but this one trumped them all. We are so happy to have our furry family member back.

If you are thirsty, Possum is serving up some bathtub faucet cocktails.

No more pandemonium & panting for Possum!

*CHEERS!*

Cheering you on & checking the fuel gauge,
Layla

P.S. Possum knows how to plug the bathtub up, all by herself. She just gives the little plug a whirl with her paw, and POOF! Instant puddle.

  1. I'd have been frantic, too - in fact, I have been over many a cat over the years, in different circumstances. Our current crew consists of 14-year old Clawde and 4-year old sibs, Sweater and Sparkle (can you tell my daughters named those two when they were 5 and 6?!). Glad Possum is okay!

  2. Thank you, girls! Isn't it crazy how attached you can get to your pets? I still tear up thinking about how thirsty and scared she was. :'( I praise God for helping her sustain the heat.

Tina, I think those are the CUTEST cat names!!! Especially "Sweater." LOL

  3. So glad that Possum was found. I remember one night we came home from work and all 3 Cocker Spaniels were gone. We looked for them for 3 days and on the 4th day the shelter called. We had lost our children, all to the fact that a Cox guy was fixing our neighbors cable and walked out our gate and didn't bother shutting it. John still hates Cox communications today and that was 4 years ago. We would have been booed out of grief counseling for that, but we would have needed it to be right again.

  4. Brownie, that is HORRIBLE! I would have needed grief counseling too. :( I assume that you found all three dogs at the shelter? I hope so. I'd like to think that we both have happy endings to our stories. :)
