...I was hooked.
This is not going to be an exhaustive post about all of the things we have made, the amazing books we have read, the unbelievable lesson plans, the festivals we have celebrated, or even the phenomenal timeline.
Alrighty, now back to what I was getting at...
(It's easy, really!)
(Okay, so I got a little behind on it this year. No biggie. Easy peasy.)

This is a post about the people behind the books.
Customer service.
People who actually care about your children's education, and not just the almighty dollar.

Two days ago, I put in my yearly book order to MFW. I was having some issues with their website, but later that evening it was up and running again. This was the same day that the cat went missing, so I was frazzled when I placed the order. We are doing things differently this year, as Skyler is entering high school, and I had some questions about the way that I should construct a more complicated school year. Long story short, I ordered in a hurry. I knew something should have been tweaked, but I was too tired to make creative choices. I went with what I knew, and decided that I would just figure it out when the time came. You know, after I had a total melt-down in mid October-ish.
Or, so I thought.
Less than twenty four hours later, I received a call. It was someone from the MFW staff. He called because he could tell that I might not be ordering the most convenient choices for my family. (Mwah?) He was concerned that I might be overdoing things, and wanted to help me pare down my list, hopefully making my homeschooling life easier. Without being pushy, or in a hurry, he asked me some questions about my home school vision/lesson plans. I was given valuable advice, and pointed in the direction of a less stressful school year. Oooh, boy! God was so good to open this man's eyes to my chaos, and tendency to over-do!
Much to my surprise, and with my permission, he took books OFF of my list, causing his company to LOSE money on the order. Once again, he reassured me that this should make my home school year a more pleasant one.
So that's reason #148,583 why I LOVE using My Father's World curriculum. It's not about the money for them. It's about the vision that they have for the next batch of home schoolers. The vision to raise up a generation of kids, who love the Lord, are willing to pursue a life of abandon for Christ, while filling both their heads and hearts with knowledge.

That is awesome! I keep hearing good things about this curriculum! Do you use it for all major subjects? Does it come with tests? Do you test your kiddos and what you do use if you do please.
ReplyDeleteLOL How about you just come on over sometime & I show you? You need not worry about any testing, until the 3rd grade. Even then, testing is optional in Oklahoma.
ReplyDeleteYep, MFW always had wonderful customer service for me, too! They are real gems. :^)
ReplyDeleteYes, they truly are. :)
